I've ordered delivery from here a few times and the quality is fine for the super cheap price.
The first time I ordered the small hibachi steak for $8.50, which came with white or fried rice, vegetables and an egg roll. I could have done without the bland egg roll, but the steak actually had decent flavor, the rice was cooked correctly and the veggies were fairly tender.
My initial impression was that this was perfect for distracted eating while working (which is what it was for) but I probably would have been underwhelmed for an anticipated sit down meal.
The portion size was great for the price and it arrived quickly. The menu consisted of appetizers, all day combo specials, Chinese dinners, hibachi and poke. Frankly, that's a little all over the place, but I didn't run across any of the issues I have with places that have overly large menus.
The next time I ordered, I accidentally ordered the large steak and chicken hibachi combo instead of the lunch portion. From what I could tell, it would have lasted me at least 3 meals! It didn't come with an egg roll, but the rice was a full, packed container, and there were plenty of meat and vegetables to go around. I preferred the steak over the chicken, both the veggies and sauce were a little better than the previous order as well.
The third time I decided to get one of their all day combo specials for $7.50. I ordered the chicken teriyaki with fried rice. The fried rice was okay, but I prefer the steamed. The sauce wasn't bad and the broccoli was just at al dente. The egg roll was super crispy and a lot less bland, a definite improvement over my first meal.
However, the chicken was quite stringy so this particular meal was unappetizing and I wouldn't order it again. The portion was again huge and heavy, an unbelievable amount of food for the price.
It's not amazing, but it's exactly what I would expect for the price, and I cannot argue with those portions! Make sure you go with the steak and steamed rice and you'll be satisfied with what you get for what you paid. -

It's 7:50. They are supposed to be open. They are not. Well. Never ever gonna do this again. Family spent half an hour picking dishes to pick up. Now we start all over. Thanks for nothing.

Everything was VERY bland. We had fried rice, sweet and sour chicken, and egg rolls. We needed the soy sauce for each.

Very good food and I prefer eating at the restaurant. This used to be called Japan Express but has changed to Asian Star. Local competition has seemingly caused the addition of Chinese dishes and the loss of sushi. I usually have items that come from the Japanese inspired menu. I was never a sushi eater so I don't miss it being off the menu. The Poke bowls are always terrific. Really, everything is prepared fresh and I've never had a bad meal. I would describe the decor as spartan but comfortable. The staff has always been friendly. I've eaten here at least a dozen times.

So at first I thought this place was good but the last two times was horrible. So today my husband orders sesame chicken and they first made him orange chicken then instead of correctly remaking it, they decided to just turn the meal into the sesame chicken. The girl who took the order knew and the cooks. Then we ordered chicken fried rice. The chicken was half cooked, the rice was freaking white! I'm so pissed. Then we call and they KNEW they had messed up and have the nerve to try to give us a free meal. No sir, I asked for my money back! It's a sure thing we will never be back there!! $17.54 and wasted time! We ended up throwing all of our food away! Bad ass service
